Hotel Opening

Immediately after signing as an IHG franchisee, each owner is connected with the Hotel Openings Services & Transitions (HOST) team, a dedicated group who provide support to owners throughout the entire opening process. Available by phone, online, and in person, this team helps owners navigate the wide variety of IHG resources available and ensures they stay on track with project phases and deadlines.

Design Services

Throughout the groundbreaking, construction, and/or renovation process, our Architecture & Design team provides skilled advice and expertise to help owners build the best possible hotel for their specific markets. Our team offers guidance from the planning, design, and specification phases through construction and fitting-out, whether the project is ground-up or retrofit. Services include support for ensuring brand standard compliance, training, and access to the IHG Design Connect website, a portal containing tools and information such as branded hotel décor schemes, brand standards, FF&E specifications, and architectural drawings.

Our team of segment-specific sales professionals develop, grow, and manage business-to-business relationships with key accounts, generating revenue for all IHG brands. Positioned virtually and locally in key markets worldwide, this global sales force consists of 750 sales and support team members who partner with more than 17,000 on-property sellers to drive global B2B revenue, in partnership with the commercial organizations in each region. 
IHG brand marketing provides differentiation and awareness for our portfolio, allowing our brands to stand out from the competition both globally and in our hotels’ respective local markets. Powerful, award-winning advertising and marketing campaigns—online, print, television, and high-profile sports and event sponsorships—increase consumer awareness and help drive business to our hotels.

IHG’s industry-leading forecasting, rate analysis, and revenue optimization programs help deliver the most profitable revenue to IHG hotels by ensuring they are competitively priced and attractive to guests. IHG offers revenue management tools to help experienced operators manage ADR, RevPAR, and inventory controls. In addition, IHG offers a Revenue Management for Hire program through which IHG consultants deliver expert guidance and tactical recommendations to maximize hotel performance, supported by proprietary strategic pricing tools.

Operations

Approximately 60 to 90 days prior to the opening of an IHG®-branded hotel, the HOST team introduces the owner and operations team to their Franchise Performance Support (FPS) Lead. From that point forward, this individual is the owner’s single point of contact with IHG for all aspects of operating the property and serves as a guide to the IHG tools and resources that help drive performance and attain goals.
