There is a significant opportunity to develop the InterContinental brand in Europe, where appetite for luxury hotels in high-demand cities remains strong.
InterContinental hotels are designed to command some of the highest RevPAR in their location, and the target guests are willing to pay premium rates for high quality service. The brand has established two VIP guest profiles, with the top-tier guests driving revenue while the second-tier drive volume.
In addition to guest stays, InterContinental meetings services cater for the corporate conference business and the luxury function spaces capture the lucrative private event and weddings market. A focus on creating destination bars and restaurants can also deliver significant non-resident revenue.
IHG owns, manages and franchises the brand, carefully tailoring terms of every agreement to meet individual requirements and benefits from IHG’s global distribution, direct booking systems and IHG® Rewards Club loyalty programme, which has a captive market of 96.4 million members.
